I just received a copy of my cookbook jacket and had to share it with you. It was such a surprise because I didn’t know which photo would be chosen. There were so many gorgeous shots taken by Sara Remington to choose from, but this really stood out. The cover says it all:
“Rustic Family Cooking from Italy’s Undiscovered South”.
Don’t try to order it yet because it’s not available until November 2010!

Rosetta: What a BEAUTIFUL cover, and I suppose that if one had to pick a single theme for Calabrian cuisise it would be peppers. I have also enjoyed Sara Remington’s website and blog, and found some additional lovely shots of Calabria there at http://sararemington.blogspot.com/2009/05/letters-from-calabria.html. Looking forward to our Taste of Calabria class with you next week. Mike
Mike,
Those shots on Sara’s website were taken during our trip to Calabria and many of those shots will show up in the book!
Rosetta

Che bei peperoni!
Focu meu! Quant’e bedda cu ‘sti pipi! This is a near perfect jacket, Rosetta, and complimenti to all involved. Simple, eloquent, and irresistible. Can’t wait.
Americans could benefit from discovering real food from places like Provence, Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria (and just about all of Italy, but especially the south). I’m interested in learning more about Arberesh cuisine and its relationships with the rest of S. Italy.
Charles,
As you might know Calabria has the largest Arbereshe community in Southern Italy. I wrote about it in my book and included two recipes from the Arbereshe community.
